  • Cancellation Policy
The practice maintains a 24-hour cancellation policy. Occasionally, it might be necessary to cancel an appointment. With more than 24 hour notice, I am happy to accommodate your schedule to the best of my ability and reschedule your appointment, if requested; however, you will be charged for sessions cancelled within 24 hours and/or missed sessions.
  • Fees & Insurance
Please contact me directly about fees for various services. Payment is expected at the time service. Check, credit card and cash are all accepted. If you are interested in using insurance to assist in covering session costs, I recommend calling your insurance company to better understand your benefits and what is likely to be covered by out-of-network benefits (if applicable), as I am an out-of-network provider. You will want to ask your insurance provider the following questions: What type of insurance plan do I have? Who covers my mental health benefits? (Sometimes insurance companies carve out other providers to manage mental health treatment - also known as behavioral health treatment) Do I have a deductible? If yes, how much of it has been met to date? What percentage of my bill will be paid by the insurance company after I have reached my deductible? Does my policy have an out-of-pocket maximum? If my out-of-pocket expenses reach a certain amount, will the insurance carrier ever reimburse at 100 percent? It is a good idea to note the date of your call and the name of the person you spoke with. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
  • Preparing For Your First Appointment
The initial appointment/evaluation will focus on your history (and your child's history, if applicable) - both the actual events in your life and on your emotions and behaviors surrounding your life experiences. It is often helpful to think about any significant life events or recent changes that are contributing to the challenges which led you to seek treatment. If you or your child is currently or historically prescribed any psychotropic medications, please bring a list of the medications with you to the first appointment. This should include the name of the medication, the dosage, the effects, any side effects, and the length of time such medication has been prescribed.
